NORML: Willie Nelson Edorses Barney Frank/Ron Paul Marijuana Bill HR 2306

July 7, 2011 Leave a comment

Drop the federal thugs, let the states decided. Contact your congress critter and tell them to support HR 2306.

The Constitution gives the federal government no authority to manage the manufacturing, sale or use of Marijuana. In the case of the 10th Amendment, this would leave the decision to the States or to the People.

Drug Abuse Down By Half After Decriminalization in Portugal 10 Years Ago – Forbes

July 6, 2011 Leave a comment

Most people know that drug abuse and drug related crime would go down if drugs were decriminalized, but in the US we are still force fed propaganda about drugs from the government from kindergarten-graduation.

Please call your congressman/woman and tell them to support HR 2306 which will end the federal criminalization of Marijuana and give the power to the States to regulate as they see fit.

Article from Forbes: http://blogs.forbes.com/erikkain/2011/07/05/ten-years-after-decriminalization-drug-abuse-down-by-half-in-portugal/

Drug warriors often contend that drug use would skyrocket if we were to legalize or decriminalize drugs in the United States. Fortunately, we have a real-world example of the actual effects of ending the violent, expensive War on Drugs and replacing it with a system of treatment for problem users and addicts.

Ten years ago, Portugal decriminalized all drugs. One decade after this unprecedented experiment, drug abuse is down by half

Tom Wood’s Slaps Down Another Ron Paul Propagandist

It would take me practically forever to respond fully to this article, given that every sentence requires three paragraphs of refutation. That’s what Thomas Sowell said about leftism: its bumper-sticker slogans at times require volumes to disprove. I’ve already addressed most of Gregory Hilton’s complaints. See the following:

Suspect With Shotgun and Sledgehammer Attacks Gov’t Money Generator, MD Police Close Rt. 295

July 6, 2011 Leave a comment

I don’t blame the guy for being angry. Why is a private company allowed to take photos of speeders and send tickets to them on behalf of the police department? This is clearly generating revenue for the government and is completely unconstitutional. Would anyone allow me to just create a company, stand on the side of the road or maybe just drive around in my car writing down license plates of people that are speeding, then go tell the police and demand a cut of the booty? Not likely…

Of course, I won’t defend the destruction of property. Maybe just standing in front of it with a sign would have been a lot more useful.

I’m also willing to bet the guy who is being described as the “Brawny” paper towel guy, or maybe Paul Bunyan (even though he had an axe), didn’t even have a shotgun. The only mention of it in the news story is from the guy in the “scam van” saw him come out of the woods “with a shotgun.” Next thing the criminal knew he was beating the car with a sledgehammer – maybe it wasn’t a shotgun after all…

Authorities said the man approached a speed camera vehicle parked along the side of the road.  A contractor sitting inside the white vehicle told police he saw a man walk out of the woods with a shotgun and tap on his back window.

The man then walked around the front of the vehicle, police said, and started pounding it with a sledgehammer.

Several motorists witnessed the incident and called it in to authorities. No injuries were reported.

The media has no problem hyping it up as if this huge man came out of the woods wielding a big ass shotgun in one hand a 20lb sledgehammer in the other. Check out the URL of the article – “Shots Fired on Rt 295.” I wonder what he did with the shotgun when he was beating the car with a sledgehammer? Could this guy really be that much of a beast?

The cops went as far to actually shut down 295 to look for him. I used to live in Maryland and shutting down 295 is no small task. In the future, this sledgehammer/shotgun/ox wielding lunatic better be sure he doesn’t stop illegal revenue generation for the criminal cartel or there will be hell to pay.

Ron Paul Says Abolish the TSA

I’m on board with this and apparently, so is the LA Times.

The airlines should be taking the necessary steps to protect their customers. The government has showed their failure again and again regardless of how much money and striping of individual rights are thrown at the problem.

‘Ninety-five year-old women humiliated; children molested; disabled people abused; men and women subjected to unwarranted groping and touching of their most private areas; involuntary radiation exposure,” Paul said. “If the perpetrators were a gang of criminals, their headquarters would be raided by SWAT teams and armed federal agents. Unfortunately, in this case the perpetrators are armed federal agents. This is the sorry situation 10 years after the creation of the Transportation Security Administration.”

Romney Pulls in Cash From His Banker Buddies, Ron Paul Couldn’t Care Less

“I don’t need $10 million dollars to match Mitt Romney, I am confident that my conservative record and our message of liberty can beat the establishment of both parties,” Paul told his supporters. Paul also tied Romney’s large wallet to the need to spend more money on defending his support of Romneycare. “I don’t have to defend passing the groundwork for Obamacare, so it’s okay if Mitt has a bit more money than we do,” Paul argued.

Show Love to the Merchant Class

People can be downright nasty to store clerks and stores. It’s their right: a feature of the market is that you don’t have to trade with anyone in particular. And yet, it still troubles me when people are so dismissive of attempts at entrepreneurship. Why not refrain from buying and walk away? Why hurl invective or behave in a rude way?

In the sports store the other day, I heard customers muttering that this glove is too expensive, this tennis racket is too tightly strung, this shoe is too gaudy, this exercise equipment is not all it says, and that the store should carry this brand of ball, not that one. Most people are happy, else the place could not be in business, but other people (again, rightly) just assume that it is their right to dislike, refuse, cut down, put down, and generally dismiss any merchant with a wave of their hand.

K9 police dog dies after being left in a hot car – Cops feels bad and say sorry.

July 5, 2011 2 comments

Cops above the law?

The news is hammered during the summer, especially in the south west, about leaving your dog in the car because of hot weather. The State even uses our tax money to play commercials to remind us not to leave our furry friends in a hot car.

Indeed, people have in fact been arrested or fined for doing such things. Even when running into the store for a minute with a bowl of water in the back.

In Hinesville, I was accosted for “animal cruelty.” We were traveling to visit family in the southwestern part of the state. In the car were my wife, my two young daughters, and our two dogs, Methuselah and Garibaldi.

——–

You see, we left the dogs in the car, with the windows down and a dish of water to drink. A noble citizen watched us emerge from the car and promptly called animal control. An agent was dispatched to rescue our persecuted beasts.

I was informed that I was being charged with criminal animal cruelty, subject to appear in court at a later date. Apparently, the fact that my dogs were panting was proof positive that they were at death’s door. Never mind that they always pant, even in an air-conditioned house.

Carmel man arrest for leaving dog in stifling car

The chief of the recently formed Putnam County SPCA is amazed that “people don’t get it!”

Ross has asked local residents observing an animal inside a vehicle on a hot day to call their local police department or the Putnam SPCA new hotline.

Man Arrested For Leaving Dog in Hot Car

A Keller, Texas man is behind bars charged with animal cruelty after leaving his dog in a sweltering car in the Schlitterbahn parking lot.

Now, these dogs didn’t die. I’m sure you could dig and find some that did. But did it have anything to do with the law, or the police? No – It has to do with individual responsibility. Responsible people take care of their pets and family and don’t do anything to hurt them. The State should no be legislating morality, they should be upholding the law and protecting property.

A feeling of disgust should come over you every time you hear a story about these pig cops that are clearly above the law. How clearly? This story shows it.

Her name was Liberty, but she died trapped in the back of a hot squad car.  Her handler apparently forgot to put her in the police department kennel when he got off work Wednesday afternoon.

A beautiful name and its a shame that she isn’t still alive to defend it. Now notice that when citizen leaves a dog in the car to run into the store they can be charged and put in jail. This dog, however, was  “trapped” in the back of the car. She actually wasn’t trapped, he irresponsible cop left the dog in their. He actually forgot the dog in the car, just left her in there and went home.

I assume he was all high on a power trip after a long day of acting tough and threatening people with the lose of their property. I’d rather not post any more of the article because they make sure to let us know how bad the cop feels and how sorry he is for doing it. So fucking what? Stick the bum in jail for animal cruelty if it is in fact, the “law.”

If we all believe in freedom and equality, everyone should treated the same way. The law should not change just because a persons holds a certain position. Follow a simple principle like that would remove a lot of the hate and animosity from our society.
