House Repeals Health Care Law, Passes To Senate To Be Blocked

“If people let the government decide what foods they eat and what medicines they take, their bodies will soon be in as sorry a state as the souls who live under tyranny.”Thomas Jefferson

The vote – 249 to 189.

Democratic Reps. Dan Boren of Oklahoma, Mike Ross of Arkansas, and Mike McIntyre of North Carolina joined GOP lawmakers in supporting the symbolic vote to repeal the law.

Senator Harry Reid from NV has promised to block the bill to repeal the Obama’s health care plan.  House Majority Leader Eric Cantor has challenged Harry Reid to give the bill a vote since they have no fear it will fail.

“If Harry Reid is so confident that the repeal vote should die in the Senate then he should bring it up for a vote if he’s so confident he’s got the votes,” Cantor said.

Rep. Steve Cohen from Tennessee claimed that Republicans were using tactics similar to Nazi propaganda to turn Americans against the health care plan.  The going rumor is that this plan will create jobs.  Rep. Cliff Stearns from Florida sees the real problem – it creates the wrong type of jobs.  He speaks to Rep. Frank Pallone from New Jersey…

“Perhaps the gentleman of New Jersey didn’t listen to me when I just spoke,” Stearns said. “It’s creating 150 new government agencies. And these are all government jobs. When we talk about job creation here, that’s government jobs.”

In a last dying move some House Democrat leadership aide (read: waste of tax money) said:
“It’s time for those who support repeal to give up the federal health benefits they currently enjoy as Members of Congress – the same benefits and protections they are voting to take away from millions of Americans,” a House Democratic leadership aide said. “Americans have a right to know that those who support repeal are willing to live without the same benefits they are denying their constituents.”

Right… I’m sure we would get the “same benefits and protections” that these federal employees get.  Republicans are “taking away” those same benefits Americans.  Well here is a news flash, A House Democratic leadership aide.  There are 26 states that have joined a suit against the Federal Government.  I’m not too sure we are all worried about them taking it away.  Most of us just want the government out of our lives and businesses and let the free market get back on track.
