John Pilger – The War You Don’t See

December 31, 2010 Leave a comment

I had heard a few people talking about this documentary called “The War You Don’t See” by John Pilger.  I decided to give it a watch and I enjoyed it for the most part.  I wasn’t surprised by much of what I heard because in my opinion the evils are war is pretty obvious.  I do thank John Pilger for making this documentary.  The Anti-War movement needs to keep gaining steam until all our troops, including the ones in 130+ countries are back protecting America.

To put it simply, I’m with Ron Paul – We need a new foreign policy based on non-interventionism, a foreign policy that the founders of this country wanted us to have.

“Peace, commerce and honest trade with all nations, entangling alliances with none”  – Thomas Jefferson, First Inaugural Address

“Commerce with all nations, alliance with none, should be our motto” – Benjamin Franklin

These endless, illegal wars are not making us any safer.  These interventionist foreign policies are destroying our freedoms at home and making our enemies grow.

UPDATE 5/18/2011 – It looks like they were removed from the channel because of a copyright issue. I’m sure you can do a quick search on YouTube and will find it.

The Food Safety Modernization Act – Another Crushing Blow To Freedom

December 30, 2010 Leave a comment

When I first started hearing about this bill it was called S 510.  I knew immediately the government was up to no good, you can tell by the name of the bill.  Every time a bill with a sweet name comes along, you can be sure it will be the most evil tyrannical bill imaginable.  Look at the “Patriot” Act.

One and half years later, after the bill has passed both the House (6/9/2009) and the Senate (12/19/2010), we have H.R. 2751

The bill is poised to give the FDA more power and impose more regulations and rules on small farmers which will make it impossible to stay in business.  Does this not go against everything our country and freedom stands for?  Since when did we come to believe this notion that the government has all the answers and that it is even possible for it to take care of every single one of us.

With minimal research it’s easy to find wording in this bill that will make you sick.

Section 305 – Gives the FDA the power to set up offices in other countries and control the regulations of their food.

Along with military bases in over 130 countries, we will now be setting up FDA offices.  This is a bad idea.  Not only will billions of dollars of our tax money be squandered away on illegal wars, now who knows how much will be given away in the name of not helping a single American.

The Department of Homeland Security and the U.S. Treasury are involved.

Let’s face the facts people, this is government tyranny.  They want to make sure you are eating what they tell you.  $12 million in support of this bill was given by big agriculture, not the small farmer.  It even goes further to say they would like the “harmonize” the regulations with Codex Alimentarius.  This is a commission created by the FAO and WHO.  This scum of the earth openly support Monsanto and foods with GMO’s.  How are genetically modified foods safer then a local farmer growing organic for his community?  Simple – THEY AREN’T!

I wrote my Senator (Harry Reid – NV) expressing my dislike for this bill, here is his response.

Dear Friend:
Thank you for your recent letter on the Food Safety Modernization Act, S.510.  The health of Nevadans has always been  at the top priorities during my career in the Senate.  Nevadans and families across the nation are fortunate to enjoy one of the safest and most abundant food supplies in the world, but we should make our food even safer.  Every year millions of people become seriously ill and may even die from food borne illnesses.  Unfortunately, our food and safety laws have not kept pace with changing food production and our current laws are outdated and cumbersome.  On March 3, 2009, Senator Dick Durbin of Illinois introduced the Food Safety Modernization Act (S.510) to modernize and improve food safety under the FDA.  The legislation was passed by the Senate with bipartisan support on November 29, 2010 with a 73-25 vote.  S.510 creates preventative programs and expands the authority of both the Secretary of Health and Human Services and the FDA in order to promote the safety recalls of tainted products.  The bill requires food manufacturers and distributors to follow new sanitary food practices, increase food inspections, and keep more thorough records tracking food products.  The bill also gives the FDA the authority to recall tainted foods, rather than relying solely on voluntary recalls from food producers.  No one in America should have to worry if the food they put on the table is going to harm them or their families, the Food Safety Modernization Act will continue to make sure we have the safest food supply in the world.

Wow, that sounds really nice.  It would be hard for you to find an example of the government running anything correctly.  Why trust them to tell us what’s safe?  We have become an uninformed public and that is dangerous.  From the governments own data (CDC), only 82 people die a year from E.Coli!

It’s my understanding that the problem is government, when you let the free-market decide what is good and what is bad, the problem would be solved.  How long would people buy food from a farmer that was selling tainted fruits, vegetables, or meat?  That farmer would not be in business very long.  What about the farmer that was selling the best, your friends and families have recommended his/her products?  That business would grow, with his profits he could produce more and employ more people.  Keeping good standards would ensure his business would last for years and years, consumers would enjoy great healthy, safe food.  All without the government being involved.

Taking the other road of government control makes us less safe.  It puts the producing power in the hands of greedy people with ulterior motives.  It paves the way for multi-national corporations to step in and get their foot into your life and make sure you are consuming from them.  They have no stake in keeping you safe, they only care about profit and are normally immune to collapse as they fly under pretty little globalist banners.

Small business creates 60-80% of jobs in this country, it’s no wonder we are in such a bad time here in America.  Our small businesses are being crushed by taxes, regulations and are simply unable to keep up with companies that get bailed out by the government using our tax money.

I will not follow this law, it is not in my best interest.  Everyone needs to opt out of this law, you would not be a criminal if you grew some tomatoes and sold some to your neighbor.  If this bill becomes law, You would be a criminal, simply because the State says so.  I don’t buy it for a second, and you shouldn’t either.

If people let the government decide what foods they eat and what medicines they take, their bodies will soon be in as sorry a state as the souls who live under tyranny” – Thomas Jefferson
